Ginger's Mom Loves your Fur Babies Too!

Hi! I'm Stefanie, a humanitarian aid worker based in NYC. I grew up with cats and my adult life is always best when I'm owned by a cat (or cats!) too. The cat distribution system has always sent my family cats, so we've (been) found (by) lovely rescues, but once the vet and friends figure out just how soft our hearts are, we've been gifted orphaned purebred kittens, ferals to tame, and even a dog who behaved like a cat. In the last 15 years, I've focused on rescuing senior kitties stuck at the shelter for too long, and sadly just lost my beloved senior calico Ginger.

As a lifelong cat owner, I've pretty much dealt with it all. Giving oral meds (liquid, solid, powder), IV fluids, injectible meds, ear mite gel, etc. Feeding kittens with bottles and stimulating their tiny behinds with a wet cotton ball to make sure it all comes out the other end. I've coaxed cats from under beds and pulled them off the top of refrigerators, but that's infreuquent as I find that most cats are drawn to my calm and patient demeanor. I love kitty cuddles, but only when the cat is willing, and I have great respect for their independence and personal preferences. I am also an expert laser mouse operator and string puller; I will make sure your cat is entertained and burns off some energy, especially while you're away. I have a car, so easy for me to come to your place, and to transport your kitty in case of emergency. I will view it as a privilege to care for your kitty, help them bridge the time until you return, and will respect the sancicity of your/their home. Happy to answer any questions you may have!
